Join Us for a Horseshoe Crab Walk!
Saturday, June 1st
6:00pm - 8:00pm
Circle Beach, Madison, CT
Horseshoe crabs come ashore to breed during May and June high tides. As citizen scientists for Project Limulus we will count, measure and tag the crabs as part of a long-term study of horseshoe crab (Limulus polyphemus) population ecology. Learn about this living fossil’s important role in coastal ecology, and the valuable component of their blue blood that benefits human health. Be prepared to walk a mile along a rocky beach, and wade knee deep into the water. Sturdy waterproof footwear is recommended.
Registration begins May 8th
